The police have arrested a suspected killer of a commercial sex worker at Utako village.
The suspect, according to police source, was arrested on Wednesday last week at Mabushi after some days of intensive investigation into the gruesome murder of the call girl penultimate week.
The source who spoke to City News in confidence said the suspect, identified as Joseph Odoh, was traced through a mobile phone SIM card in the pocket of his trousers which he left at the scene of the crime.
“He fled the scene of the incident leaving his trousers with a mobile SIM card in its pocket. He was traced through that SIM card and was arrested last week Wednesday by the police at Mabushi,’’ the source said.
He added that the suspect was first handed over to Utako police division before he was transferred to the FCT Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Thursday for further investigation.
City News gathered that the suspect who was a security guard with a security firm in Utako, allegedly hacked his victim to death with a knife in her room following an argument over payment for her services.
Utako Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Sani Aliyu Omolori, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspect had been transferred to FCT CID for further investigation.
