FIFA PRESIDENT, GIANNI INFANTINO TO VISIT NIGERIA

There are indications that recently appointed FIFA president Gianni Infantino will visit Nigeria after having a short discussion with NFF president Amaju Pinnick. Infantino’s visit was made known by chairman of the league Management Company (LMC), Mallam Shehu Dikko during a television programme on Friday.Amaju-Pinnick1

Dikko suggested that Infantino would be in Nigeria to discuss the development of football in Nigeria and most especially the partnership with the La Liga. ‘“I want to let Nigerians know that the NFF President had a chat with Infantino during the current Fifa Congress in Mexico and he praised the development of football in Nigeria and also commended the federation for attracting the La Liga to partner with our league,” Dikko said. “He immediately told NFF boss that he would like to come to Nigeria so that he can also see areas in which he could be of assistance to Nigerian football.

He said he would come very soon.” Meanwhile the NFF is currently embroiled in a leadership crisis with two factional at board room level; one led by Pinnick and another by Chris Giwa. The Pinnick led board which was sacked by a Jos court have remained in power despite the ruling and have been asked to exit the NFF secretariat by the Chris Giwa led board. The Pinnick led board have also sacked Giwa and members of his faction.
