In Preparation for a peaceful and hitch free election in Ondo state,  IGP Idris Ibrahim was in Akure today, where straight from the airport, he started by reading the riot act to the police, to ensure non partisan involvement in the coming governorship election.

He called on journalists, to appeal to all politicians and stake holders, to team up with one another, so that the election could meet the aspirations of the people, as well as pass all the credibility tests in order for it to be adjudged free and fair. He attended a stakeholders interactive meeting along with the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu, with the theme” state of readiness and general conduct of the election”.

In attendance were the contestants or representatives of all the 28 political parties that would be participating in the election.

IGP Idris made it clear to all that, the police would not connive with anyone, to compromise the conduct or credibility of the election.
