Not less than 11 governors flew into the ancient city of Kano on Friday to witness the introduction ceremony between the daughter of the state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and son of his counterpart from Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
Ganduje and Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, had visited the Mallam Aminu International Airport very early in the day ahead of the arrival of the would-be-groom, Idris, his family members, and other important dignitaries.
Apart from large sections of the city wearing celebratory looks, traditional and cultural dancers from different ethnic grounds were brought in to entertain guests.
The host, alongside the visiting governors, later paid homage to the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, and other notable elders within the state.
The love affair between Fatima and Idris is said to have started several years ago, even though, it only became public knowledge recently.
Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Badaru Abubakar; his Lagos State counterpart, Akinwumi Ambode; and their Ondo State counterpart, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), were among the dignitaries that graced the occasion.
