The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh has debunked the allegations of N2 billion Fertiliser scandal by the Nigerian Agro dealers saying the funds were never with the Ministry of Agriculture but rather domiciled with the Ministry of Finance.
The Minister while debunking the allegations to newsmen in Abuja yesterday described the allegations by an online media as a culture of irresponsibility and blatant criminality.
It is to be recalled that an online media had alleged that the Ogbeh, Minister of State and Permanent Secretary had shared the sum of N2 billion out of the total sum released for the payments of agro dealers by the federal government.
Responding to the allegations, Ogbeh said “If this is some kind of joke, it is a scurrilous joke.”
He said“ First this was a debt we inherited from the previous administration, the total debt was N37billion and when we arrived, the agro dealers said they couldn’t operate because they hadn’t enough money to carry on with their businesses.”
