The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned the trial of Nicholas Mutu, a serving member of the House of Representatives, till December 8, 2025, for the adoption of written addresses.
Mutu, a former Chairman of the House Committee on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), is standing trial before Justice F. Giwa Ogunbanjo alongside Airworld Technologies Ltd and Oyien Homes on a 13-count charge bordering on money laundering and gratification to the tune of N320million.
The lawmaker and his co-defendants are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In response, Justice Ogunbanjo granted both the prosecution and the defence 30 days each to file their written addresses, and an additional 10 days for replies.
The judge subsequently adjourned the matter to December 8, 2025, for the adoption of final written addresses
