7 CAR MARTS DISLODGED IN ABUJA, 40 CARS IMPOUNDED
The Directorate of Road Traffic Services (DRTS) has dislodged seven car marts and impounded 40 vehicles displayed for sale within Abuja city centre.
The Director, DRTS, Wadata Aliyu Bodinga, who made this known at a press conference said the car marts were dislodged in Garki, Jahi, Jabi and other locations in the territory, adding that the display of vehicles put up for sale was unacceptable.
“We impounded 40 vehicles that are displayed in the city. The practice is unacceptable because this city has rules and regulations and individuals are expected to follow this,” he said.
He said the spaces used by the car dealers were not legally allocated for that purpose. “We need to show that our city is a place where rules and regulations are followed; they should display vehicles in areas provided for such purposes.” He said displaying cars for sale in the city centre and airport road should be discouraged to give a better image of the territory especially to foreign dignitaries.
