Former Minister of Education in Nigeria and former presidential candidate, Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili, has lost her mother, Mrs Cecilia Nwayiaka Ujubuonu.
An official statement made available by Ezekwesili’s spokesperson, Mr Ozioma Ubabukoh, stated that Mrs Ujubuonu died in died in the arms and home of her daughter, Ezekwesili, in Abuja on Sunday night (June 21, 2020) from cancer.
Mrs Ezekwesili who Hails from Ndodolu Village, Umunuko, Ukpor, in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, was born on April 18, 1942, Ujubuonu. She retired as a retired businesswoman, devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, the church (Redeemed Christian Church of God) and service to humanity. Her husband, Benjamin Ujubuonu, died in 1988.
