INSIDERS CLAIM FADAH RAN THE NYSC EXHIBITING TRAITS OF MENTAL INSTABILITY, SLEEPING INSIDE MOSQUE IN MILITARY UNIFORM, WALKING ROUND THE OFFICE IN UNIFORM WITH BATHROOM SLIPPERS

INTRODUCTION
The National Youth Service Corps was established in 1973 by the Federal Military Government of His
Excellency Gen Yakubu as a beacon of national unity and integration, designed to drive the process of
carving a nation out of the multiplicity of ethnic nationalities making up the entity, Nigeria.
Over the past 49 years, the Scheme has pursued vigorously the lofty objectives of the founding fathers.
The NYSC has equally grown exponentially, mobilising over 350,000 Nigerian youths for Service every
year.
There is no gainsaying the fact that the Corps is a great institution that refocuses the mindsets of
Nigerian youths, making them more patriotic, amenable to be mobilised for national causes such as:
national elections, census, polio eradication, HIV/AIDS campaigns, among others.
Through the Scheme’s Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme, thousands of
ex-Corps Members trained under the initiative have able to set up businesses, employing other
Nigerians and contributing immensely to the country’s economic development, which is a remarkable
achievement of Government.
In 49 years, the Scheme has had 19 Chief Executives, starting with Col (Dr.) Ahmadu Ali, a brilliant
medical doctor that laid the foundation of the Scheme, upon which his successors have continued to
build upon, as the Scheme is work-in-progeess.

The performance of a good number of the past Chief Executives was of sterling quality. Notably, among
others, Col Ali, Col Edet Akpan, Col SA Sofoluwe, Brig Gen Samson Dule, Brig Gen Yusuf Bomoi, Brig Gen
Maharazu Tsiga, Brig Gen NT Okore-Affia, Brig Gen Olawumi, Maj Gen Shuaibu Ibrahim all made varying
degrees of outstanding contributions to the progress of the Scheme as Chief Executives, for which
posterity will remember them.
*THE NOSE DIVING OF THE SCHEME*
Brig Gen MK Fadah took over the reins of leadership from Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim whose tenure
witnessed a lot of positive actions as the 19th Chief Executive.
The coming of Fadah, whose antecedents are anything but noble remains the greatest disservice to the
youths of this country which the Scheme caters to.
It is most regrettable that the President who has great abhorrence for cutting of corners; was misled
into appointing a misfit the Director-General of a Scheme that he has always given tremendous support.
Fadah is a representation of all that is wrong with Nigeria. It is very surprising how the character rose to
the rank of General in the Nigerian Army that has produced the likes of Gen Muhammadu Buhari, Gen
Joe Garba, Gen Dambazzau, Gen Domkat Bali, Gen Tunde Idiagbon, Gen TY Danjuma to mention just a
few.
It is very surprising and an aberration that a man who evaded national service; a man who should be in
jail for that evasion was rewarded with the position of NYSC Chief Executive! Is this not a paradox?
One wonders how he got commissioned into the Nigerian Army without the presentation of NYSC
Certificate of Service; without passing through the Scheme when he was officially within the age of
service at the time he purportedly graduated.
Fadah who to all intents and purposes reflects a poor image of the Nigerian Army, particularly the
Education Corps took over the headship of the institution without any iota of agenda, other than to snap  selfies, showing off his big office which he sends to his numerous girlfriends that he camps in so many
hotels within Abuja at the expense of the Scheme.
Disappointingly, it was learnt that days after his assumption of office, some members of staff were able
to articulate a 5 — point agenda for him, but he cannot express the meaning of the agenda before his
staff and members of public.
It is a shame that a man who can hardly string a sentence in English, a man who lacks the ability to
reason properly, let alone critical reasoning has been dumped to preside over the fate of millions of
youths upon whose shoulders the destiny of Nigeria lies.
Since the month of May that he took over, he has been struggling knowingly and unknowingly to
dismantle all that his predecessors laboured to build in 49 years.
His main interest lies in patronising marabouts that he has in abundance virtually in every State of the
Federation, whom he regularly doles out cash running in millions of Naira. This same character will
always sit on the floor in his office with dirty looking marabouts eating food with his bare hands as NYSC
staff members and visitors watch him in abject disappointment and disgust.
Fadah whose office has become a harem of sorts for women of easy virtue from 8 pm has debased the
position of NYSC Director-General. His vulgarity is indescribable. A Corps Member of Zamfara origin once
expressed shock at Fadah who had asked him to validate what he, Fadah heard about women of his
tribe whom he said are highly promiscuous. That was a discussion that a Director-General who should
be on a moral high ground had with a Corps Member whom he is supposed to be a moral compass.
Regularly bringing contractors into his office, one after the other to personally negotiate his pecuniary
interest on contracts already or about being executed is his past time; while staff welfare, particularly
their statutory entitlements have been negated.
For instance, it was learnt that he once approved that some staff embark on official assignments to as
far as Bayelsa, Lagos, Rivers, among others with a duty tour allowance of fifteen thousand Naira —
covering the cost of transportation to and fro Abuja, feeding, as well as accommodation.

By this insensitivity and assault to the Financial Regulations and extant circulars which is the height
irresponsiblility and wickedness, is he not wilfully promoting graft and indolence in the Scheme?
On the other, he spends millions of Naira in contravention of the Financial Regulations junketing round
the country on journeys that do not add any value to the Scheme.
There were reports that he once had issue with mental health which hitherto remained at the realm of
conjecture. However his mannerisms, for which we sympathise with him give credence to the fact that
he must have had that issue.
Otherwise, how can one explain the situations the Director-General will be walking round the office in
military uniform, wearing bathroom slippers; going to the NYSC Mosque to sleep in his military uniform,
going to NYSC camps in uniform to sleep at daytime, when Orientation programme is not on, sitting
down on the dirty floor of NYSC Lift, because of tiredness, according to him!
NYSC Chief Executive should inspire confidence in Staff and Corps Members; be in full grasp of NYSC Act,
among others. Fadah does not even know why he is in NYSC as Chief Executive.
It is so unfortunate that NYSC is going down under his watch. We as stakeholders of the Scheme
passionately appeal to the President not allow the Scheme which is among the greatest national assets;
a unifier to die.
Brig Gen Fadah should be quickly removed from the Scheme in order to begin the process of rebuilding
the monumental damage that he has inflicted on the Scheme since May, 2022..
The next NYSC Director-General we pray should go through proper screening and security checks to
ascertain that he is of sound mind.
