Barring any last minute intervention, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Nyesom Wike has directed that the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja will be sealed with staff and visitors barred from the property as from Monday.
The Minister said the PDP secretariat will be sealed along with 4,793 other properties revoked by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) in March this year.
The planned revocation is coming ahead of the much awaited National Executive Committee, NEC meeting of the PDP slated for Tuesday, May 27.
The FCT Minister has been at loggerhead with the PDP leadership and some stakeholders since he lost the presidential election of the party to former Vice president Atiku Abubakar in the run in to the 2023 general elections.
After losing the election Wike vowed not to work for Atiku who eventually lost the election and pitched tent with the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who eventually won at the polls.
Every attempt to hold the NEC meeting of the party has been resisted by Wike and his sympathisers in the NWC who believe that the NEC outcome may take the party leadership away from his control.
