The National Assembly has announced that all senators, members of the House of Representatives and their aides have been restricted from passing the long corridor in front of the office of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

The Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, in an internal memo on Thursday, notified lawmakers of reinforced security measures around the Senate Chamber, the gangway, and the corridor.

According to SaharaReporters, the memo dated October 2, addressed to the Chairman of Senate Services and signed by Brig-Gen Etido E Ekρο (retd), stated that all lawmakers and aides would be restricted from the White House lobby.

The memo further stated that lawmakers should disseminate the information to their aides and personal assistants.

“All aides or personal assistants would not be allowed into the said corridor,” the memo indicated.
