ABUJA AIRPORT SHUT OVER INCIDENT INVOLVING PRIVATE JET ON RUNWAY

The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja, was shut on Wednesday following an incident involving a private jet on the runway.

The incident, our correspondent learnt, involved a Gulfstream 400 private jet with tail number: 5N-PZE, carrying 14 passengers including four crew members.

 

A source who confirmed the incident stated that the aircraft was arriving from Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, when the incident happened.

The aircraft, it was learnt, landed at 2: 16 pm.

“The cause of the incident could not be ascertained but I am sure the appropriate authorities would have been informed about the incident,” the source said.

Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr. Henry Agbebire, said he was also aware of the incident but he would get back to our correspondent for the details
