AFRICAN COUNTRIES NEED TO WORK TOGETHER TO DEVELOP THEIR COUNTRIES AND STOP EXPORTING RAW MATERIALS ONLY TO IMPORT FINISHED PRODUCTS- ABDUL SAMAD RABIU

‘Africa countries needs to work together, to strengthen their collaboration and stop exporting raw material and importing finished goods. The continent has many raw materials oil and gas, gold diamond bauxite name it, yet all we do is export them rather than collaborating and cooperating to harness these resources for the common good of the continent, this is not enough’. This was the opinion of BUA Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu at the inauguration of the Angola-Nigeria Business Council in Abuja yesterday.

According to the billionaire businessman, if the continent is to resolve its problems of development and generate employment for its teeming population, there is the need for the countries to come together and find ways of collaborating rather than each running its own race. Speaking on the presentation by top Angolan government officials about the various opportunities in their country, the billionaire businessman who was ably represented by one of the  Executive Directors of BUA Group,  Kabiru Rabiu disclosed that some of the revelations by the Angolan government officials were indeed facts that would interest any businessman and venture capitalist. He further stated that he believes that Nigerians and Angolans who before now have been doing their things at their different corners of the world will fully utilise the opportunities afforded by the new collaboration for the development of not just their private businesses but also their countries as well as the continent. He therefore commended the Angolan Ambassador for packaging the event to sell his country and also foster understanding and cooperation among businessmen of the two countries.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of new Angola- Nigeria Business Council led by Architect Fifi Ejindu as President.

After the presentation, former Senate President, Bukola Saraki who is the patron of the Council also spoke briefly about the need for African countries to collaborate, an issue that was also reiterated by the Information Minister, Mohammed Idris who revealed that the Tinubu government is serious about ensuring that more emphasis is placed on Africa finding solutions to its problems rather than depending on developed countries.
