AHMED NUHU BAMALI, RUFAI’S MAN FINALLY NAMED AS NEW ZAZZAU EMIR

Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli has finally been named the 19th Emir of Zazzau.

He succeeds Alhaji Shehu Idris, who died on Sunday, September 20 after a 45- year- reign.

The choice of a successor to late Shehu Idris has been dogged in controversy as Kaduna Governor el Rufai spared nothing to have his way.

Bamalli is the first emir from the Mallawa ruling house in 100 years after his grandfather Emir Dan Sidi died in 1920.

Born in 1966, he studied Law at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He holds Masters Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy and a Diploma in organisational leadership from Oxford University, UK.

He is also a fellow on conflict resolution of the University of York, United Kingdom.

He is believed yo be the Governor’s friend given the fact el Rufai did virtually everything to ensure he emerged including nullifying the first list sent to him for final vetting because it didn’t include his name.

His latest posting as an ambassador was also said to have been influenced by el Rufai
