An Appeal Court sitting in Enugu has upheld the ruling of an Ebonyi State High Court on the sacking of David Umahi, governor of Ebonyi State and the deputy governor, Kelechi Igwe.
The Appeal Court in its ruling agreed that the constitution does not give powers to the judiciary to declare the seat of an elected governor vacant.
Recall that an Abuja High Court presided over by Justice Inyang Ekwo had sacked Umahi, Igwe and 17 lawmakers in the state for defecting from PDP to the APC.
