BREAKING! APPEAL COURT ALLOWS HIJAB ON LAGOS SCHOOLS

The Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal has reversed the judgment of a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja which on October 17, 2014 banned the use of hijab in Lagos State public primary and secondary schools.

The appellate declared in a unanimous judgment on Thursday that the ban was discriminatory against Muslim pupils in the state.

Details later.

LAges would be the second state in the Southern part of Nigeria which is predominantly Christian that the court would allow the wearing of hijab in schools. The battle over a ruling   on the wearing of hijab in secondary schools is still on in Osun state where the issue deteriorated weeks back leading to non-Muslim students wearing various types of church and traditional worshippers cloths and gowns to the school.
