The BUA Group has reacted to the appointment of its Chairman, Abdul Samad RABIU as a member of APC Standing Committee on Finance. In a statement issued today, the BUA Group acknowledged that the appointment reflected ‘the recognition of his commitment and that of BUA Group, to economic prosperity and the development of Nigeria.’

The statement however noted that the Chairman has consistently adopted an apolitical stance over the years. This, according to the Group is as a result of the nature of its business as well its stance of total commitment to the nation’s economic growth and philanthropic efforts through ASR Africa.

Based on this, the Group announced that the Chairman has declined the appointment not only because he was not previously consulted before the announcement was made but also  because of his inability to commit time due to his demanding schedule.

Affirming the Chairman’s unflinching support for the economic development and prosperity of the  country, the statement further asserted that all these could be pursued through the vehicles of strategic investments in the economy as well as philanthropy which he has strictly adhered to over the years.

It therefore seeks the general public, partners and stakeholders’ understanding of its position on this.
