BUHARI APPROVES 65 TV, RADIO LICENSES, SEE LISTS

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the granting of FM Radio and Digital Terrestrial Television, DTT, licenses Rhola Vision Engineering Ltd.– a company owned by his former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal – and 64 other companies, institutions, and individuals in the country.

DAILY NIGERIAN reports that the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Customs Service, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Coups, Daily Trust, LEADERSHIP and Blueprint newspapers have all got FM Radio licenses.

This is contained in a statement signed on Sunday by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs Unit of the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, Antia Ekanem.

According to the statement, 43 licenses are for the establishment of FM Radio, 8 for campus, 1 for community FM Radios while 13 are for free-view DTT.

The statement read: “consequent upon the approval by the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, has released the list of 65 successful companies and institutions of higher learning recently granted Radio and Digital Terrestrial Television licenses.

“In summary, 43 companies have been granted FM Radio Broadcasting Licenses, 8 Campus FM Radio Broadcasting Licenses, 1 community FM Radio Broadcasting License and 13 free-view Digital Terrestrial Television Licenses.”
