The Management of Arik Air has asked for the intervention of the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, over the planned industrial action by aviation unions scheduled to commence on Monday. The Chief Executive Officer of Arik, Capt. Roy Ilegbodu, made the appeal in a letter written to the minister entitled “Re-Unions in Arik Air threaten to down tools September 14th” in Lagos on Sunday. AVIATION UNIONS TO DISRUPT FLIGHTS, BEGIN STRIKE TODAY

Labour unions in the nation’s aviation sector, on Monday said they will from May 22 begin an indefinite industrial action over the new organogram approved by the Federal Government. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the unions issued a Notice of Strike Action against the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) on Tuesday in Lagos.
