EX-ENUGU COMMISSIONER BUTCHERED OVER LAND TUSSLE

Sequel to a lingering land conflict, Pastor Beloved Dan Anike, a former
commissioner for Inter-Ministerial Affairs in Enugu State narrowly escaped death at the weekend.
However, the ex-Commissioner was badly butchered by his kinsmen from
Umuchigbo, Iji-Nike Community in Enugu-East Local Government Area of Enugu State, at Trans-aerodrome Layout, at about 2.15PM, near popular Adoration Ministry over his stance on alleged indiscriminate resale of people’s land by the community Chairman, Francis Anike.
The former commissioner, who is also a Zonal Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, was rescued by passersby in a pool of blood after he sustained several machete cuts and was rushed to the
Anti-Robbery Special Squad (SARS), office where he received first aid by a Police doctor before he was moved to Eastern Medical Centre.
This was even as the Pastor’s site Engineer, Emmanuel Ogbo, who was
working at the site, was said to have been kidnapped by the gun toting cultists allegedly led by a known community leader.
It was learnt that the cultists had tied Ogbo’s hands and legs and slammed him into the boot of their vehicle and driven off.
