Setback to ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State as party stalwarts including Two former ministers, a former Deputy Governor, former Senator representing Gombe North, former and a prominent private legal practitioner leave the party in droves to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former PDP Youth Leader Alhaji Abubakar Habu Muazu, disclosed this at his Kashere electoral ward to register as a member of the APC told a mammoth crowd of supporters at the event that together with other prominent politicians they are poised to wrestle power from the ruling party in the state come 2019.
“Since change has been effected at the national level, it’s only appropriate to bring this change to Gombe State” he said.
While appealing to the people to eschew politics of bitterness, Habu promised to give his best to change the fortunes of the party in the state.
He equally commended former governor of the state, Senator Danjuma Goje who he said is doing all in his capacity as the leader of the party to bring more people into the party.
Some of the prominent PDP members that recently defected to the PDP include Dr Aliyu Modibbo Umar former FCT Minister, Sen. Abdullahi Idris, former minister of Transport, Lazarus Yoriyo, former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Jamilu Ishiaka Gwamma Executive Director, Northwest Power Limited, Senator Sa’idu Ahmed Alkali and Barrister Haruna Luka.
