For the second time in one week, the Federal Executive Council meeting dragged into late hours on Wednesday.
President Muhammadu Buhari presided over Wednesday’s meeting in Abuja.
The meeting started at about 11am and members went on break twice.
The second break was at 6.45pm to enable the President to break his Ramadan fast.
The FEC meeting was set to reconvene at 7.15pm, according to the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.
Other Muslim members of the council were to join Buhari in breaking their fast.
The meeting was expected to last into the night, just like the previous week’s, which was presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
Up to 24 memos were scheduled to be treated on Wednesday.
As of 3.30 pm when the meeting went on the first break, only three of the memos had been fully considered.
Last week, during Buhari’s absence on a private visit to the UK, the FEC meeting also lasted into the night.
It was held on a Thursday and it ended about 10pm.
That particular edition was shifted from Wednesday to Thursday because of May 1 (Workers’ Day), which fell on a Wednesday.
