Fashion designer kills friend over missing N2,000

An Ilorin Magistrate’s Court has remanded a fashion designer, Mr. Tunde Kareem, in prison, for allegedly stabbing his friend, Sulu Isaika, to death. Kareem murdered Sulu because of suspicion that the deceased stole his N2,000. Sulu’s elder brother reported the matter to the police before Kareem was apprehended and charged to court.

Police First Investigation Report (FIR) on the matter indicated that Bashiru Isiaka, living at No. 140 Alimi Alore, Ilorin, Kwara State, had on January 16, 2019, reported at ‘G’ Divisional Police Headquarters that on the same date, he received information that his younger brother, Sulu, of the same address had been stabbed to death by one person called ‘Star boy’.

The accused was said to have suspected his friend of stealing the money and in the process of demanding his money, a misunderstanding ensued between them, during which he allegedly used a knife to stab Sulu in the chest, leading to his death. When the matter came up for hearing, police prosecutor, Sergeant Innocent Onoola, prayed the court to remand the accused, saying the case is capital in nature and is not ordinarily bailable. In his short ruling, Buhari remanded the accused in prison custody while the matter was adjourned till February 5, 2029 for further mention.
