Nigeria’s Finance Minister has, on behalf of Nigeria, written a letter to the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the African Development Bank, AfDB declaring Nigeria’s satisfaction with the decision to abide by the findings of the Investigative Panel which looked into the allegations against the Bank President, Nigeria’s Akinwumi Adesina.
In a letter addressed to Kaba Niale as the Chairman of the Board, Zainab Ahmed said she supports the efforts of the Bank Chairman which has used its internal mechanism to examine all the allegations and also noted that when the accusers were given the opportunity to come and defend their petition, the ‘whistleblowers’ didn’t show up.
Zainab Ahmed also went down memory lane recalling the various achievements of Adesina in his first term as AfDB President and why he stands as the sole candidate as he faces reelection. Accordingly the Nigerian Finance Minister commended the Chairman’s insistence that the Bank’s laid down rules be followed.
