Marylyn Ogar
The erstwhile spokesperson of the Deppartment of State Services, Marilyn Ogar earlier relieved of her appointment and posting by the Buhari led APC government has been recalled to the service.
This followed more than 10 years of struggle to prove that her actions in service were in line of duty and necessary for the peace, security and safety of her fatherland.
The recall has elicited nationwide excitement with Cross River state indigenes applauding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for anchoring fairness, justice and national inclusion, following his reconsideration, reinstatement and promotion of Ms. Ogar, As DSS Spokesperson in the heat of the war against terror, Boki Haram had declared a fatwa on her head a fact overlooked by the Buhari administration when she was posted to Maiduguri when he assumed power in the heat of the Boko Haram and ISWAP activities in the area.
It would be recalled that she was later withdrawn from the area and summarily retired from service.
Chief Sankara Dickson Unung, described the President’s actions as “a powerful demonstration of justice and reward for merit, values that resonate deeply with the people of Cross River State.”
Chief Sankara noted that Ms. Ogar is a distinguished daughter of Cross River State who “served the nation with integrity, courage and professionalism as the face of the DSS” before her unjust disengagement nearly a decade ago.
Her reinstatement, he said, “is a triumph of truth and faith, a testimony that justice can be delayed but never denied. Chief Unung further extended appreciation to the Director-General of the DSS, Mr. Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, for his cooperation in facilitating Mrs. Ogar’s reinstatement. He congratulated Ms. Ogar for her steadfast faith and resilience, describing her as “a symbol of hope and honour for Nigerian women.”
Also commenting, Musa Abubakar Kano said Marilyn discharged her official duties with pride and handled her unjust retirement with grace.
Mrs Adama Johnson said is a justification for women representation especially when they show capacity and courage adding that the women of Nigeria are poised to change the story and trajectory of Nigeria in all fields, through self belief, representation and capacity
