The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, has asked the FCT Police Command to arrest any motorist that beats traffic lights in the territory and subject such motorist to psychiatric test.
He said in a statement issued yesterday by his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Sule Hazat, that the FCT Health and Human Services Secretariat should make ambulances available at traffic interchanges to convey any motorist arrested by the police to undergo the test.
He remarked that the bills for the psychiatric test and administrative processes should be borne by the erring motorist to serve as deterrent.
He said if the arrested motorist is certified to be all right and medically fit by doctors, he/she should be prosecuted to face the consequences of the action.
