HOW SPORTS MINISTER SIDELINED SIASIA TO DEAL WITH PLAYERS THROUGH MIKEL OBI AFTER EFFORTS TO FORCE COACH TO USE SOME PLAYERS FAILED

Fresh facts that emerged from the U-23 Eagles’ camp in Maunus, Brazil revealed that Head coach, Samson Siasia, is ready to quit his job halfway into the Rio 2016 Olympics following intrusion from top officials from the Sports Ministry.

New Telegraph can exclusive report that Siasia who led Nigeria to winning silver medal at the 2008 Olympics , is not comfortable with top officials of the ministry who are trying to frustrate his efforts and are bent on dividing the team.

“The coach has been calm because of the players who have endured hardship with the team but he is ready to quit if this unending efforts to sabotage his work does not stop,” our source said.

“Nigerians should know that a lot of people are working against the U-23 Eagles and Siasia is very upset but he has been keeping his cool and that is why he has not replied any of the accusations coming from the Sports Ministry and the minister, Solomon Dalung,” our source added.

It was learnt that some politicians through the ministry attempted to force player on the coach and this did not work because the quality of the players was too low for the team.

“They also approach the NFF president Amaju Pinnick to assist them to inject players into the team but Pinnick told them point blank he doesn’t want to be involved so that he can have the moral justification to evaluate Siasia fairly.

The U-23 Head Coach is also irked about the decision of Dalung to sideline him in Atlanta at the heat of the travelling brouhaha in the USA. “Mikel Obi, the captain, overnight became the person in charge but because of Mikel’s loyalty to Siasia, the coaching crew has been calm.

They have threatened to sanction the coach, they frustrated and abandoned the team in Atlanta but the coach is just poised to qualify to the quarterfinal first before opening up so Nigerians can know what is happening,” our source added. If the U-23 Eagles records a win against Sweden, Siasia could open up and then throw in the towel.
