HUMANITARIAN AFFAIRS MINISTER, BETTA EDU CLOCKS 37, REMAINS ONE OF THE SHINING LIGHT OF THE TINUBU CABINET

In the few months that the Tinubu cabinet has been in place, Betta Edu stands out as one of the very few Ministers who look cut out for their jobs. Curiously the second person is also a relatively young person.

The minister has in a few months,  identified the challenges in the dispensation of help to the needy and those who ordinarily should have been in this group but have been left out.

The current reorganisation of the Social investment register, which hopefully will weed out names fraudulently inserted is perhaps one of the major achievements of the Minister in her short time in office.

Moves to include special people hitherto left out of the register as well as giving the Ministry a more human face have definitely shown that she knows her onions.

From being a campaign leader, as the party’s Women Leader, Betta Edu has easily transformed into a witty and down to earth administrator without losing the humaneness that she was known for as a Commissioner back home in Cross River.

While it might be too early to celebrate her immediate impact and wins in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, there is no doubt that many believe she has started well and she will surely be a major hit in the cabinet if she continues with this pace and determination.

Happy birthday to the Honourable Minister.
