INTERNET FRAUD: HUSHPUPPI SENTENCED TO 11 YEARS IMPRISONMENT IN US

The United States Central District Court in California has sentenced Ramon Abbas popularly known as Hushpuppi, a Nigerian internet fraudster, to 11 years imprisonment for cyber fraud.

Hushpuppi, who had already spent two years in prison, is now expected to spend nine more years behind bars in the US.

He was arrested in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in June 2020 alongside 12 accomplices over allegations of hacking, impersonation, scamming, banking fraud, and identity theft, and thereafter extradited to the US for prosecution.

Hushpuppi was also accused of extensive fraud scheme that robbed his victims of their money in the U.S, Qatar, the United Kingdom, and other places.
