A senatorial aspirant in the  just concluded FCT Senate primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hajiya Heebat Ireti Kingibe, has said she will make her position known to the public about the party’s national assembly primaries this week.

Kingibe, who spoke with our reporter via telephone, yesterday, said she was among the stakeholders that had strengthened the party in the FCT and was concerned about the manner its primaries were conducted in the territory.

“They told us that there would be no violence when they insisted on going for the direct primary, unfortunately the people who brought out the thugs are the ones they intend to give the ticket to,” she said.

She also advised against adopting the same system for both chairmanship and councillorship primaries slated for Wednesday and Thursday this week across the six area councils.

The APC chieftain disclosed that she had already met with top politicians at the presidency to advice the party to jettison the idea of conducting direct primaries for chairmanship and councillorship, which she said may likely ignite crisis.

“And the man has assured me at the presidency that he will go to any length to make sure that there was no direct primaries for both chairmanship and councillorship primaries in the territory,”  she said.

Kingibe, therefore, called on her supporters to remain calm and continue to be law abiding and loyal to APC in the FCT.
