KANO HISBAH WRITES RADIO STATION TO STOP BLACK FRIDAY ADVERTS, SAYS FRIDAYS ARE HOLY DAYS
In a curious twist of ignorance which boils down to sheer religious intolerance, Kano Islamic police Hisbah has written a Radio Station in the state to say that the connotation, Black Friday is a desecration of their holy day, which is Friday.
They therefore urged the radio Station to stop using the word, Black to describe Friday.
Oblivious of the use of Black Friday to describe that specific period in the year when shoppers have the opportunity of picking better bargains as a result of discounted sales, the Hisbah, in their letter claimed that they will be on the lookout to ensure that no immoral activity takes place on Black Friday.
