Leave Market Women Association out of your Fight with Buhari – Commodity Market Women Association President, Chief Mrs Felicia Sani…

felica saniThe President General of Association of Commodity Market Women and Men Association of Nigeria, Chief Mrs Felicia Sani has disassociated the body from the recent protest organized by Folasade Tinubu-Ojo to vent her anger with President Buhari over his attitude to women.
Chief Mrs Sani, who addressed the press in Abuja stated that Folasade Ojo is not a member of the association and has never attended their meetings wondering how someone like that could come out to say she leads the organization in a protest.
Going down memory lane, Chief Mrs Felicia Sani disclosed how, in association with the late wonderful kind mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji of blessed memory, who was Folasade’s grandmother, the Association was registered in 2007. According to her, ‘ there were five members of the Board of Trustees, these were Chief Mrs Felicia Sani, Chief Alhaja Adewumi Agbaje, Deacon Lanre Ajayi, Princess Hadiza Sabo and Chief Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji.’ She further disclosed that while the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji was the President General she was the Vice President and that when the President General passed on she assumed office as the head of the Association and has been piloting its affairs since.
Brandishing the Certificate of Incorporation of the Association duly issue by CAC, with Registration number 120246, Chief Mrs Sani wondered why it took Folasade Tinubu Ojo so long to come out and claim leadership of an association she never knew anything about if she is not up to mischief.
The President of the Association of Commodity Market Women and Men Association of Nigeria further stated that Folasade displayed her crass ignorance of what she was talking about when she even got the name of the association wrong. She asserted that’s if truly Folasade knew what the group was about and the story behind the group, she would not have made reference to the association in a bid to fight Buhari.
Chief Mrs Felicia Sani stated that her association has no political affiliation and is not involved in partisan politics of the nation. ‘The statement made by Folasade Tinubu Ojo to the effect that ‘ we even heard that another FCT Women leader is organizing another Market Association named Association of Organised Market People in Abuja and most of these people are PDP members ‘ were made in bad faith aimed at misleading the public for her selfish interest and cheap popularity.
She further stated that her association neither belong to the APC nor PDP or any of the other parties in Nigeria, adding that Nigerians, especially market women should disregard Folasade Tinubu-Ojo’s statement and posturing purported to have been done on behalf of the Association of Commodity Market Women and Men of Nigeria.
