MAGU ARREST LATEST: DSS DENIES ARREST, HOW HE WAS STOPPED IN TRAFFIC AND TAKEN TO THE VILLA

The Department of State Security Services, DSS has come out deny that they were not responsible for the arrest of EFCC Chairman, Ibrahim Magu. According to a statement issued by DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, the Department was not instrumental to his arrest.

Abujareporters however stands by its story that Magu was whisked into the Villa this morning. according to reports by media sympathetic to the EFCC, he was stopped in traffic while leaving the EFCC Wuse 2 annex by FCID officials (NOT DSS AS WE EARLIER REPORTED)

Magu was said to have pleaded to be allowed to go to Force Headquarters first but he was informed that his attention was needed at the Villa where he is under investigation.

Meanwhile, journalists have been denied access to the Presidential Villa Conference Centre venue of the Panel that is investigating the EFCC under Magu.

As at the time of filing this report, Magu is still with the Panel with his lawyer.
