Mass Sack of Teachers Looms as Anambra State Government Scavenge for Election funds

The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), led administration in Anambra State, is planning to sack half of teachers in the state in order to save money for Professor Charles Soludo, the APGA’s Guber Candidate in the upcoming election in November 6, 2021.

According to a source at the government house in Awka, the Anambra state capital, the governor of the state, Mr. Willie Obiano, recently summoned the state commissioner for Basic Education, Kate Azuka Omenugha, and other officers of the state ministry of education to his office to discuss the modalities.

The source who wants to remain anonymous told our reporter, Nduka Okosisi, that the APGA government and his team have already concluded plans on the mass sack of teachers and other workforce in the state ministry of education.

At the said meeting in government house in Awka, it was reported that Governor Obiano lamented the poor state of funds in the state treasury and advised the Commisioner and other officers in the ministry to immediately prune down the entire workforce in the ministry of education in the state. The governor also ordered the commissioner to carry out the operation discretely from the prying eyes of the unsuspecting public.

Governor Obiano has been scavenging for funds, to take care of his party’s campaigns, vote buying and other administrative conveniences for APGA members ahead of the November Guber election.
