MEGA PARTY MEMBERS STORM INEC WITH DOCUMENTS SEEK REGISTRATION

Members and supporters of what is said to be the much anticipated mega party, Action Democratic Party (ADP) yesterday thronged the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) in Abuja, to formally apply for registration as a political party.
Members of the political organisation arrived the INEC headquarters at 1pm, in a long convoy of cars, drumming and dancing in jubilation.
The members, led by their protem national chairman, Engr. Yagbayi Sani and other interim officers, were seen with volumes of documents seeking to be recognized as ADP.
The jubilant crowd were however stopped at the gate of the electoral commission while their interim chairman and a few officers with the registration documents were allowed to go into the premises.
Engr Sani while explaining to the jubilating crowd that heralded the submission of the registration documents said “We are here to celebrate democracy with fun fare and not to cause havoc, we are sorry if we have broken any protocol.
“having complied with all the constitutional requirements for registration as a full-fledged political party by INEC, including interim structures in the 36 states of the federation and the FCT, Abuja, today we are making history by submitting our documents formally and a few of our members decided to join us  to this place.”
However while speaking with journalists after submitting the registration forms, Engr. Sani expressed confidence that they will be recognized by INEC.
He further declared that the prospective new party will dislodge the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) at the federal and state levels especially in the National Assembly ahead of the 2019 general elections.
