Legendary entertainer and social activist Charly Boy has candidly shared his journey with prostate cancer and the subsequent establishment of his foundation to support men’s health.
Charly Boy revealed the challenges he faced when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, including physical symptoms like urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction. He emphasized the importance of early detection and treatment, urging men to prioritize regular health check-ups.
“I felt obligated to go and speak on behalf of men, to say this is the worst thing that you can do to yourself. The sooner you check up to know what’s happening in your body, the more prepared you are,” he said.
To address the lack of support and awareness surrounding men’s health issues, Charly Boy launched his foundation, which aims to provide financial assistance for prostate cancer screenings, treatments, and mental health support.
“Our primary duty was to raise funds knowing that men can be slow in medically checking themselves, and I, as the Chief Campaigner for awareness against Prostate Cancer, my duty is to relate with the men in such a way that they can have a test done, at least, for the first time,” he explained.
Charly Boy also stressed the importance of mental health, urging men to break the stigma surrounding seeking help for mental health issues. He encouraged open dialogue and support among men to address the challenges they face.
The foundation is calling on individuals and organizations to contribute to its mission of improving men’s health and well-being.
