NATIONAL ASSEMBLY EMBARKS ON 2-WEEK EASTER BREAK

Easter: National Assembly embark on 2 weeks recess

Members of the National Assembly yesterday embarked on two weeks recess for the Easter celebration.

Both chambers of the National Assembly had adjourned to April 10.

At the Senate, the Deputy Leader, Bala Ibn Na’Allah moved the motion for the recess and it was seconded by the minority leader, Godswill Apkabio.

Meanwhile, Senate President Bukola Saraki called on Christians and all Nigerians across the nation to work towards emulating the virtues of Jesus Christ as epitomized by his passion, persecution, death and resurrection during Easter.

In a message by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki said all Nigerians must remain constant in their efforts to promote unity across all lines. He noted that it was imperative for all Nigerians to come together in order to build a country that both present and future generations could take pride in just like the work of Christ, which has endured for over 2000 years and has continued to inspire generations.
