MINISTER of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, said yesterday, that government has put in place a deliberate policy not to allocate new plots of land now or in the near future, until districts were provided with the best compliments of infrastructure.
According to the minister, the policy is not designed to stifle development but to ensure that development goes the way it should be, and also to discourage land speculation or double allocation. Speaking yesterday when he received a delegation of the Catholic community in Abuja, led by the Archbishop of Abuja, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, the FCTA Minister said lands that were a compensation for wrongs done or as part of amicable resolutions to disputes, would be exempted from this arrangement. According to him, the FCT Administration will give priority to these exceptions.
