NSITF BOSS, OLUWASEUN FALEYE RECEIVES ISPON EXCELLENCY LEADERSHIP AWARD
The Managing Director and CE of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Barrister Oluwaseun Faleye, has been honored with the Excellency Leadership Award by the Institute of Safety Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON).
The award was presented during a side event of ISPON’s Annual Professional Development Conference, Exhibition, and AGM, held from Wednesday to Friday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Upon receiving the award, Barrister Faleye dedicated it to the staff and management of NSITF, describing it as a recognition of the organization’s commitment to safety. He expressed that the accolade would motivate NSITF to further enhance its efforts in promoting safe work environments across Nigeria.
In a goodwill address, Faleye commended the conference theme, “Safer Nigeria 2025: Leveraging AI and Digitalization for Enhanced Occupational Safety and Health,” describing it as both timely and visionary.
He highlighted that the true cost of workplace accidents extends beyond monetary loss, impacting human dignity, productivity, and the nation’s development. “Each injury, each fatality, represents a family disruption, a deferred dream, and an interrupted future,” he stated.
Faleye emphasized the importance of connecting occupational safety advancements with the Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS) managed by NSITF. He noted that workplace dynamics are rapidly evolving, with innovations such as artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, and digital platforms transforming industries. These advancements introduce new challenges, including cyber risks, human-machine interface accidents, and psychosocial stresses associated with digital work.
He called for urgent leverage of artificial intelligence and digitalization to ensure the safety and protection of Nigerian workers.
The conference drew participation from ISPON leadership and members, Members of the National Assembly, industry leaders, and key stakeholders from both the private and public sectors.
