A prominent member of Ijesa North Traditional Council, Osun State, Oba Adejoro Otebolaku, the Owalare of Ilare has debunked the insinuation in some quarters that he was the traditional ruler involved in an alleged sex scandal circulated in various media reports recently.
The Owalare in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Osogbo declared that though, the personality alleged of the act, the Aketewi of Iketewi is a monarch under his territory, it was wrong to assume that he was the culprit.
According to him, “The matter is currently being investigated by the police,” adding that the law should be allowed to take its course.
While charging journalists to conduct proper investigations on the sex scandal, he assured the general public that “appropriate sanctions would be meted on the monarch involved by the Traditional Council if he is found culpable of the heinous act.”
It would be recalled that there were media reports (not LEADERSHIP Friday) during the week that a traditional ruler in Ilare land was apprehended by the police over the impregnation of a 14-year old girl in the town.
The State Police Command through its Public Relations Officer, Mrs Yemisi Opalola stated that the alleged 62 years old man and his son were still in the Crime Investigations Unit of the State Command over the alleged sexual escapade.
