Present and several former governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are meeting in Abuja to strengthen party unity, arrest the drift and strategize ahead of future political engagements.

Serving Governors in attendance included those of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, who is the Chairman of the Forum, Osun State – Senator Ademola Adeleke; Plateau State – Caleb Mutfwang; Oyo State – Seyi Makinde; Adamawa State – Ahmadu Fintiri, Enugu – Mr Peter Mbah, Taraba – Agbu Kefas, and Zamfara – Alhaji Dauda Lawal.

Also, in attending the meeting is the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Ambassador Umar Damagum; Secretary of the Board of Trustees and former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesome Wike.

Similarly, former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Seriake Dickson; former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.

Others include; former Kwara State Governor and former President of the Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, former Niger State Governor, Babangida Muazu, a former Bauchi State Governor, Adamu Muazu, former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido and a former Governor of Akwa Ibom, Mr Udom Emmanuel.

The list also include former governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Benue – Senator Gabriel Suswam and Dr Samuel Ortom, Enugu- Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Ebonyi – Senator Sam Egwu, Imo – Chief Achike Udenwa, Cross River – Liyel Imoke, Kogi – Capt. Idris Wada, Jigawa – Sule Lamido, Niger –  Babangida Aliyu, Gombe – Ibrahim Dankwambo, and Rivers –  Nysom Wike.

The PDP Governors’ Forum extended invitations to former governors, Board of Trustees members, and National Working Committee members of the Party for the meeting to discuss current situation and development within the party.

The leaders are expected to deliberate on critical issues affecting the smooth running and operations of the Party such as the position of National Secretary, the upcoming National Elective Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for May 27, 2025 and the National Convention of the Party and efforts to address recent defections from the party.
