Pastor Ituah Ighodalo: Elders in the RCCG asked me to remarry after my wife left me and went on to remarry and have kids !.
“In fact, they came to me and said, ‘your wife has left. You pastor a big church. How are you going to cope? You need a wife. The leaders of the church approached me. I didn’t go to them. People don’t know this.
“I had nobody in mind to marry. When they came. They said, ‘you are doing well. Your church is growing. Your wife has left. She refuses to come back. She has even remarried someone. She has children’.
“They said I couldn’t continue like this. I said, ‘but I thought the policy is that it’s not possible.’ They said, in this circumstance, we need to find what to do. I did what they asked of me and got their approval.”
The trustees of the RCCG were however angered by it because it was against their doctrine. He therefore had to leave RCCG with his wife in 2009.
