There was tension in Port Harcourt on Monday as a group of Rivers women staged a dramatic walkout on Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, during a women empowerment programme at the EUI Centre, News360 Nigeria reports.

The event, which was billed to feature the presentation of empowerment items to 500 women in the state, turned chaotic when the wife of the Sole Administrator, Mrs. Theresa Ibas, was invited to speak on behalf of the First Lady.

According to an eyewitness, the moment her name was announced, the atmosphere shifted.
