SAVE US FROM FULANI HERDSMEN, TRANSPORTATION MINISTER, AMAECHI’S COMMUNITY BEGS RIVERS GOV.

Ubima community, hometown of the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi in Rivers State has decried the activities of Fulani herdsmen in the area, saying that the herdsmen were destroying their farmlands with their cows.

Spokesman of Ubima Council of Owhor holders, Oha Anthony Umezuruike, who, yesterday, when they paid a courtesy visit to the immediate former Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area of the state, Mr Nwanosike Samuel , said that the community members were afraid to go to their farms because of the herdsmen.

“The Fulani herdsmen are destroying our farmlands. Our people can no longer enter their farms because of these people and their cows. We are appealing to the Rivers State Government and the council to come to our aid to either send them away or show them where to graze.”

While commending Governor Nyesom Wike, for restoring peace in the area, the chiefs also pledged their support for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The spokesman, Umezuruike, who is the Publicity Ssecretary of PDP, said that Governor Wike had made it possible for people in the community to sleep with their two eyes closed.

According to him, the governor had successfully supported security operatives to rid the community of kidnappers and criminals.

Nwanosike assured that the governor will continue to take steps to secure lives and property in the area.

He further welcomed them to the PDP, saying that it was unfortunate that the past government could not achieve peace in Ubima community.
