The Senate is currently in a closed-door session just two minutes after the commencement of the day’s plenary session, which started 10.38am.
The executive session is believed to be over the re-nomination of Mr. Ibrahim Magu as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The secret forum will enable Senators iron out issues and take position on Magu’s nomination having rejected him earlier.
The Senate has officially reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-nomination of Mr. Ibrahim Magu as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), saying the President failed to respond to security issues raised about the nomination.
Senate spokesman, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, who disclosed this to journalists at a press briefing before the day’s plenary session, however added that Magu will be subjected to legislative procures of the Senate.
