Cultists' transfer: Saraki, Ahmed complaints ridiculous - Kwara liberation group

A sociopolitical group known as Kwara Liberation Group (KLG) said that the shout by the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and the Kwara state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfattah Ahmed over the transfer of some suspected cultists transfered to the force headquarters in Abuja from the state is ridiculous.
The group said they are surprised by the noise of Saraki and Ahmed saying such transfer is not the first time it would be happening in the state.
The group said this in Ilorin, the state capital during a press conference tagged a clarion call on Nigerians to support the course of the law on crimininality in Nigeria.
Speaking, the Chairman of the group and Tafida of Ilorin, Dr Amuda Aluko, said the shout of the senate president and the state governor alleging that IGP intend to implicate them is preempting the likely consequences while the investigation is still ongoing.
Aluko said what the state is witnessing now is a buildup of several lives consuming and property destruction activities in Kwara state since the year 2003.
“The public have been made to believe that the perpetrators of the criminal acts were from outside the state. However, without prejudice to the activities of the security personnel in the state and Nigeria, several open letters, newspaper advertisements and books have been written while countless press releases and press briefings had been done by the progressives to sensitise the government at all levels of the problems in the state and probable solutions s but the god fathers to the criminals have always subverted the efforts to reed our state of criminals.
“We want to make it clear to the public that the police have not in any way transgressed their limit by transfer of the arrested cultists to force headquarters in Abuja because similar transfers have occurred in the past to many cases which include; the oro-ago Fulani/farmers crises, Share/Tsaragi crises, Alapa crises and the recent robbery attack in Offa.
“What is the concern of the senate president and the governor in the case? Why have they not made such noise before now especially on similar cases reported above? Their actions draw us to the plausible conclusion that they have a lot of fears in this matter,” the chairman said.
The group added that several cases were reported, some followed up in law courts but the end results are always disappointing saying “several innocent personalities among the progressives have been incriminated just to silence them. To press home our point, the security should call for tapes of radio and television programmes of the progressives and the monsters in the state, these will show clearly the agonies of the masses. These have been the travails of the progressives in Kwara.
The group therefore advise the senate president to stop running helter skelter and allow IGP to perform their constitutional duty and commended the position of President Muhammadu Buhari on case so far.
