Suicide bombers are suspected to have detonated bombs along Maiduguri-Damboa Road on the fringes of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The explosions occurred on Saturday morning, with many feared dead.
The second explosion occurred close to an Internally Displaced persons camp, with Boko Haram suspected to be behind it.
A witness said: “Bomb blast in Bakassi IDP Camp of Maiduguri and the second bomb blast at NNPC Depot Damboa Road.”
As the security and response agencies moved to the two scenes of the explosions, PRNigeria gathered that nine dead bodies and 24 injured victims have been recorded so far.
The Spokesperson of National Emergency Management Agency in Maiduguri, Abdulkadir Ibrahim, only confirmed the efforts of rescue and health workers in the evacuation of wounded victims to hospitals for treatment, while the dead bodies have been deposited in the mortuary.
