TWO ARRESTED OVER MURDER OF PROMINENT BENIN BUSINESSWOMAN

Two persons have been arrested by men of the Edo State Police Command over the killing of business woman.

The business woman identified as Mrs. Pat Oyo Omo-Osagie, was killed on Sunday night in front of her residence at Adesuwa road in the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Benin City.

Omo-Oagie was shot before she alighted from her car as the gunmen were waiting for her.

Eyewitnesses said the gunmen were hired assassins.

One of the sympathisers, Mrs. Mata Ojeikere, described the deceased as woman with “heart of gold.”

“From the look of things, it’s like the gunmen were at the gate there waiting for her. They didn’t take anything from her car. She has a heart of gold. Her heart is like glass, you can see through her. She’s such a nice person,” Ojeikere said.

Anthony Ohiovbeunu, a family friend of the deceased, said “those who killed her have not done anything. If they think they have done something, we leave them to God.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Haliru Gwandu, confirmed the incident, saying two persons have been arrested in connection with the incident.
