The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued certificates of return to winners of the February 25 House of Representatives elections.
INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu presented the certificates to the members-elect on at the national collation centre, Abuja.
However, the declared winner in Akoko South-West Federal Constituency of Ondo State, Adegboyega Adefarati, did not receive certificate of return as his name was not among the reps-elect pasted by the commission.
Though he contested the election under the platform of the APC, the INEC’s winners list contained ‘Court Order’ in front of Adefarati’s name.
Daily Trust reports that a Federal High Court sitting in Akure had earlier disqualified Adefarati after declaring as null and void the APC primary election in the federal constituency,
